Be the change you wish to see in the world.

~ Gandhi (paraphrased)

The pursuit of happiness.

Founded on the principles of Ashtanga Yoga, our community is focused on creating positive change in the world by pursuing our individual paths towards enlightenment. This approach is what was meant by Gandhi Bapu when he said,

“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”

Although an authentic practice of Ashtanga Yoga imparts a high level of accountability and personal study, we need not do it alone.

A more perfect union.

Community is what helps in making us feel whole; we can be seen, have a better sense of belonging, and further develop the love for ourselves through loving each other. After all, at the core we truly are the same; we are part of the whole, the One True Self, the spirit of the universe. Returning to the self is of great importance if we are to create the sort of change that we desperately need. That (re)union to the self is precisely what yoga is all about, and we believe that Ashtanga Yoga can be highly effective in achieving that goal.

If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

~ African Proverb
